George Mason University Clarinet Day - Dr Kathy Mulcahy, Director, with Guests and Eugene Mondie, Acting Solo Clarinetist in the Washington National Symphony

               The first annual Mason Clarinet Day took place on Sat. Nov 12, 2016 at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. The day began with a performance by the GMU Clarinet Choir and a master class by GMU clarinet professor Kathleen Mulcahy. There was also an audition clinic for middle and high school students moderated by a panel consisting of Betty Bley, Kristen Sheridan, and Catina Sweedy. In the afternoon there was a recital and masterclass presented by guest artist Eugene Mondie, the assistant principal clarinetist of the National Symphony Orchestra. The event was sponsored by Backun Musical Services, Buffet Crampon, D'Addario, Foxes Music Company, and Vandoren.
