WA Concerts with Hidden Masterpieces featuring VIP Charles Neidich and friends

New York City

This concert will feature the American Premiere of Alexander Lokshin's Quintet for Clarinet and Strings. You know Brahms, you know Mozart, but have you heard of Lokshin? Shostakovich called him a genius - one of the great composers, but he was ostracized by the Soviet musical establishment and his music is still virtually unknown. His quintet is a true masterpiece of great originality.
The program will include also 2 works for piano and clarinet, the first, Mieczyslaw Weinberg's profound sonata written at the close of the 2nd world war and Vassili Lobanov's moving sonata written just before the demise of the Soviet Union
